CarPlay screen orientation

Will CarPlay ever support different screen orientation?

For instance, I'm driving a Renault Megane with a big portrait orientated screen. Apple CarPlay in its current state only supports landscape, which means the image is rather small and has huge black bars above and below the projected image. It just looks silly..
