time machine Restored now at 177GB on a 128GB drive?

Hi


Currently restoring to destination drive of 128GB

However it it still running and shows currently: Restored: 177GB


how can it restore greater size than the destination size?

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

Some cache files are restored that are tiny when empty..

Also Time Machine is not fantastically accurate in some of its calculations..


If it runs out of space in reality the recover will just stop..

If it completes.. don't give it a second thought.. boot the computer and check how it goes and what, if anything, is missing.


How big was the original disk the backup came from.. if it was the same computer with same drive.. it is just TM being stupid.
