Printing with a borderline

How can I print pages with the borderline? It's an option under Layout, but when selected does not print for a one-up (5.5 x 8.5) setup. I want to use the borderline to check my margins.

imac, Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Hello Booklet lady

The border option is only relevant when more than one Pages per Sheet is selected. This is so that you can see the relative edge of the pages when they are scaled to fit onto one sheet.

What is it that you want to check about your margins? Do you doubt the accuracy of their dimension? If so you could place some shapes in appropriate places on your page (like unfilled rectangles or lines of a particular size) and delete them after you are satisfied that the margins are correct.

If it is something else, let us know and we'll see what we can do to help.

Pages doesn't directly support the production of crop marks like some of the more expensive tools do.

We have little information about your document but does the name you have chosen imply that you are trying to get your printer to impose multiple pages of your document on to one so they can be folded into a booklet? If so, CocoaBooklet might be of help to you.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'page dimensions appear wider in preview than they are in page set up'. Could you elaborate?

I don't work with inches and US paper sizes so bear with me...

Your original post said that your document is 5.5 x 8.5. Is that 5.5 wide and 8.5 tall i.e. half a sheet of US Legal paper?

Are you trying to print on US Legal paper with portrait orientation set? I'm just wondering if your printer hardware is handling a paper size mismatch by centering the smaller page image on larger paper.
