iCal won't go away

Does anyone else have this problem? iCal starts up every time I sync with .Mac, open Entourage or - and this is the strangest - type the word iCal anywhere on my screen. For example it started up (and I shut it down) three times while I typed this post. It's driving me batty!

Dholly, something similar is happening to me (for the first time) as of yesterday. When I try to sync with my .Mac account, iCal opens automatically, and shortly afterwards I get a message titled "Database Reset Alert". Following the title is: "Inconsistencies in your sync information for Contacts, Notes and Calendars were detected and have been repaired. The next sync for Address Book, SOHO Sync, iCal and .Mac may take longer than usual".

I've tried to Reset Sync Data "from my computer to the .Mac account", but it doesn't appear to have worked, though it's possible that some of the information flagged above may be corrupt on my computer. So I'm searching the Apple forums for isync, .Mac, and iCal to see if any else has had a similar message and/or solution.

I may try repairing the computer's directory via the Disk Warrior CD that I'd received today, though this may be a long shot.

Hopefully, someone will be so kind as to provide some insight into our respective problems.

Dholly, do you have SOHO Notes from Chronos on your computer? In my case, a problem with syncing SOHO Notes with iCal and .Mac may have been the problem with iCal opening without me choosing to do so. If you have SOHO Notes, and you're syncing that app with iCal, then you may want to take a look at the following thread:
