Using HomePod with separate accounts

My partner and I have separate iTunes accounts and separate Apple Radio subscriptions. Is there any point in us buying a HomePod if only one of us can sign into it and use it?

HomePod can only be signed into one Apple ID at a time. If that ID has Apple Music then you'd have access to the whole AM catalog even if you only had access to one user's set of playlists. You'd also be able to AirPlay exactly what you want from either account using iOS devices. See the Manage Music & Podcasts section of Change settings for HomePod - Apple Support to see how you can swap from one Apple ID to another if required.
