When ever I try to play warcraft 3 on my wallstreet powerbook it comes up with the error "Warcraft 3 was unable to initialize OpenGL. Please ensure you have OpenGL installed and your display drivers are current." Do you think maybe its just because the card in this computer cant handle opengl? I searced for OpenGL and it seems to be installed. Any info on this would really help me out.
G3 wallstreet powerbook,
Mac OS X (10.3.9),
I have a 30 gig ipod photo
OpenGL is installed in the Wallstreet, but for whatever reason, Apple chose not to support the ATI graphics accelerator on the Wallstreet. You can notice this even in scrolling down a page...very slow.
There is a hack for the ATI driver which may help somewhat although there are reports of occasional panics. I am running 10.3.9 on my 233MHz/512K L2 cache with no hacks and the scrolling is still slow. I have no idea whether the hack will allow OpenGL to intialize.

I just boot into os9 to play wc3 back when i used my laptop. It runs but wasnt great even when i had my 400 mghz card and now i have the 333. I dont know if u will be happy with the performance of wc3 on your machine but i would highly suggest using os9 which requires less power to begin with and u need all the power u can get with that wc3. Like i said with 512 megs and the original 400 MGHZ card it was playable...but not that great. I was just happy to finally play it. I know only use the tower i have for that.
