music on iPad not showing in iTunes

Hello everybody,

I've noticed a strange issue tonight. When my ipad is connected to my PC, the music tab under my ipad in itunes shows empty as if there is no music on my ipad. So then I check my ipad to make sure music is still there and it is. I plug in my iphone and the music shows up just fine in itunes. I have no playlists on my ipad but do have plenty of songs downloaded to it. My ipad shows 2.45 gigs of music currently on the device. Am I doing something wrong?

I've tried signing into and out of my apple ID, restoring ipad to an older backup, restarting ipad to no avail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
