Hi all, I cracked the screen on my 2012 iMac 27”. Took it apart and found LM270WQ1 (as)(f1).
question is do i need to replace it with the exact same part number or is there any other screens that would work?
It is very smart to use the correct part number!
You can check with iFixit. If I were you I would take the computer to your local Apple Authorized Service Provider and ask and while at it I'd ask them to repair it for you. As you have found out it is easy to damage an iMac if you don't know what you're doing. So before you do more damage, just treat this as a lesson and get it done right.
