Anyone know how to edit the dock open app indicator lights (dots)

Anyone know how to do this? They're a little small for me.

The Library is different — not sure where the Dock Resources are.

How do I change the dock indicators color ? the open app indicators in the dock are black, making them difficult to see most times since my dock background is gray. would like to change the indicators to white, they would be much easier to see. no 3rd party apps installed that can alter/customize the dock. any suggestions on what to look for/change ? can i do this via a terminal command, or change a file inside the package called "Dock.app" (Library-->Core Services-->Dock.app)

The Dock and FCPX? Last year I complained that I was getting irritated by the way the hidden Dock kept popping up accidentally when my cursor unintentionally went too far below the timeline in FCP X. A number of solutions were suggested but eventually I decided to keep the icons small and visible at all times. Today I decided to try hiding the dock but when I moved my cursor to the bottom of the screen it did not appear. This baffled me for several minutes until I discovered that the cursor needs to be at the bottom of the screen for 3 seconds in order for the dock to appear. Can this timing delay be altered?

The size of the dots cannot be changed.

I don’t think it is a good idea to go mess with those files, and you need to disable System Integrity Protection to do it.

But if you want to do it, it should be inside

/System/Library/CoreServices

I used to go into the Library, then Core Services (which doesn't appear to exist anymore), and then to the Dock Resources. This is where the indicator "format" used to live. indicator_large.png, indicator_small.png, etc. Then I would mess with different .png files. (Yes, I copied the folder to the desktop just in case.)

I can't find that stuff anymore, so I guess Mother Apple has changed things.

I'm not sure about the details, but CoreServices and the Dock app are still in the same place they were in High Sierra.

I don't know why you are not seeing them on your Mac.

Thanks for your reply.

Sorry, I wasn't clear.

In past OS's, I could change the actual character from the dot (character option-8) to another, larger character

like the ∆ (character option-j).

Is that not possible under Mojave?

Thanks Barney-15E. You made me go re-look. I was in the wrong Library (why are there three of them?)

Anyway, found everything except "indicator", although a new term "cartouche" looks a lot like the old indicator.

I'll try messing with those as they are also .png files. Let's see what I can break. 🤓

I was in the wrong Library (why are there three of them?)

The System has a Library where Apple keeps its stuff.

There is an "all users" Library for apps to store stuff that applies to all users.

Each user has a Library individual settings.
