Bookry PDF widget and iBooks Author

Hi,

Having problem with Bookry PDF widget. When I tap Share this PDF button on book in iBooks Author (iPad), I get the error message below:

User uploaded file

Reloading doesn't work! Might be a problem with iOS 12, as it wasn't happening with iOS 11. There were similar problems last year when iOS was updated, for me with YouTube widget and for others with different widgets. Notified Bookry, but no reply yet. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Jim

Hi Jim

Yes I have been experiencing this issue too. I have also tried to contact Bookry but as yet I have had no reply. There seems to be an issue with Bookry's readercloud service.

Digging into the package content of a Bookry widget. I discovered that many links in the bootloader.js don't seem to point anywhere.

Such as:

http://readercloud.com/account/

Pasting the URL in a browser: ">http://readercloud.com/account/

Reveals this page does not seem to exist.

Following any https:// links return a 'Your Connection is not Private Error' and the message:

This server could not prove that it is readercloud.com; its security certificate expired 127 days ago. This may be caused by a misconfiguration or an attacker intercepting your connection. Your computer's clock is currently set to Monday, November 5, 2018. Does that look right? If not, you should correct your system's clock and then refresh this page.

Visiting readercloud.com shows what appears to be a simple static website. With no login/signup options. Also there is no secure connection.

I have also noticed Bookry's social media hasn't been updated for a while!

I am hoping this is a temporary issue, but currently I am looking for alternatives to Bookry to use in iBooks I am currently creating for a client.
