I have macOS High Sierra 10.13.3 and I am the administrator and I’m trying to uninstall and reinstall iTunes but it’s not letting me change the permissions of everyone to read and writes. How can I uninstall iTunes and have the ability to change permissions
See iTunes for Mac installers. In most cases it should be OK to reinstall the current build over the top of itself. You will need iTunes 12.8 if you have any device running iOS 12, and reinstalling may trigger an additional update required for iTunes to communicate with it.

I installed iTunes over the version of iTunes I have. I'm trying to connect my iPod shuffle. I called tech support and they were unable to help me. When I look in system information under the USB tab my MacBook pro sees my iPod, just iTunes doesn't see it.
Have you tried an alternate cable? Have you checked for fluff in the docking port? Is it a model you can put into disk mode without using iTunes to do so, and if so does the computer see it even if iTunes doesn't?
