My son has made approx 600 of in app purchases

My son has basically spent a fortune on in app purchases not for the first time I’ve now removed all payment methods from all devices I didn’t realise I could remove them. Surely they have some duty of care and realise no body would be stupid enough to spend this amount of money

For the Mac computer, you have the option of parental controls. This help article discusses this: Set up parental controls on Mac - Apple Support

For the iOS devices, you can also use parental controls. This article talks about this: Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

You also have the option to get reports on how the device is used, and limit it with Screen Time using Family Sharing: Use Screen Time to get insights about how you use your device - Apple Support

Also with Family Sharing, you can enable Ask to Buy: Request and make purchases with Ask to Buy - Apple Support

You can also limit purchases with Screen Time: Use Screen Time to prevent purchasing on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

It was much easier to remove payment methods Apple r not getting another penny out of me.
