Internet connection OK but browsers won't work

Hello! I have a Mac mini and added a Netgear AC1750 modem router. I'm able to connect to the Internet and check email, but none of the three browsers I've tried will connect me to websites. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Mac mini, macOS High Sierra (10.13.6)

The window I showed was from About This Mac which you can access from the Apple menu top left Apple icon. The first selection under the Apple then system report bottom of screen.

To check what channel your router is transmitting on you have to go into your router settings and find it. I have a TP-Link router and here is what channel I am transmitting on the 5 Ghz band.

If you are connected by ethernet than just check Network in System Preferences and it will show by the green dot if that is the method of connectivity, which is the exact way I am connected.

garyfromrio linda - Hi and thank you for this information and the graphic! I really appreciate the time and effort you put into your response. Can I get to this window just by opening a new window in my finder (I'm running OS X)? And should I do anything different if I'm accessing the Internet with an ethernet connection? Thanks again!
