I just encountered this problem and did find a solution.

  1. go to Citrix website and download 12.9.1.
  2. also download the auto updater.
  3. open Citrix installer and choose the "Remove Citrix Receiver" option to remove all elements of previous version.
  4. once completed, choose "Install Citrix Receiver" to re-install. It will open as "Citrix Workspace"
  5. Once completed, open the AutoUpdater download and install.

Make sure to address the appropriate option under Safari/preferences/website to allow use of Citrix Workspace.

Citrix now works as before.

Good luck. It certainly caused me a lot of grief these past two days!!

Check for updates to what’s running, and—if you’re running the most current software package—contact the folks at Citrix support?

The Citrix folks do not appear to have updated their client for Mojave, and the current client does not list Mojave compatibility...

Depending on what the local requirments might be, either the integrated screen sharing app in macOS or the Apple Remote Desktop app should work well with macOS systems connecting into macOS systems.

Downgrade, certainly. Or find an alternative product with more current support, though that’s potentially a bigger hassle. Mojave has been out long enough that I’d wonder if the Citrix folks are getting enough business from macOS. Depending on what y’all are up to with Citrix, Microsoft Office 365 or Google’s G suite or Docs equivalent may be an alternative.

There is a solution. The auto-updater for Citrix Receiver/Viewer is not working properly. You likely do not have the most current version. I found that I had version 12.3, which really does not work well at all with 10.14.

Citrix has deprecated Citrix receiver and is now supporting Citrix Workspace. I haven't tried it but it's supposed to support 10.14. Alternatively (what I did), go to Citrix.com and download version 12.9.1. Back to working as before.

Last week I followed Elgin's suggestions above and Citrix then worked great. Few days later, a message popped up to upgrade for Citrix. I STUPIDLY did this, and now the Citrix is working VERY SLOWLY. Anything I click on, the colored spinning wheel appears. Currently I have Citrix Viewer version 18.9.0.323 (1809) Can anyone help? Thank you!

I had the same problem. As soon as I upgraded to Mohave my Citrix applications would not work and I need that for my job as I often work from home. I took the suggestion of downloading Citrix 12.9.1 and followed the directions and it works like a charm. I uninstalled the old version of Ctrix , then installed the new one Citrix 12.9.1 and also downloaded the automatic upgrade. And I was able to open Citrix applications with no problems. I didn’t have to downgrade back to Sierra. My IT department at work was of no use whatsoever. They said they don’t support equipment that is not theirs and would not offer any solutions. So thank you for the solution!!

I had posted some time ago a "fix" that actually worked for me for a small amount of time. About a day. I am now back to a system that does not work between Citrix and Mojave. I bought a new iMac and MacBook air that came Mojave installed. I wish I could send them back. I can't believe that this would get overlooked and that Apple doesn't make sure that this client software from important vendors gets updated. And now its not days or weeks, but months. There's a lot of us who love the machine, but if it won't work for you in your business model, it's nothing but a doorstop or boat anchor.
