Since upgrading to Mojave, the news icon is stuck in my dock and I periodically get a bell and a notification of something that CNN, etc. deem newsworthy. This is very distracting when I am working, how do I turn it off? Thanks.

Open News from your Dock or Application folder.
Click File in the Menu bar.
Open News, click File.
Click Manage Notifications.
Click the switches to the OFF position for those publications that you don’t want to receive notifications from.
