Calculator - Mac OS (percentage ERROR)

Since updating to Mojave 10.14, the % function does not work in the Calculator app (Mac OS) - nor using the % key on the keyboard.
It simply returns the result, "ERROR"
i.e. using the Calculator app and selecting the percentage "%" from it or on the keyboard, results in "ERROR" on the Calculator.
for example, to find 20% of 60, you would normally enter 60 x 20 % - as soon as you using the %, it gives ERROR
Calculator has always worked perfectly with all previous OS updates, until now.
