Permanently disable PTPcamera

Whenever I want to connect my android phone to my mac in order to transfer files, the PTPcamera process has a handle somewhere that prevents my transfer app to connect to the phone.

I know ptpcamera is an agent of sorts for image capture, that automatically runs when it detects a device that is capable of transferring pictures.

I found a command that disables the plugin:

defaults -currentHost write com.apple.ImageCapture disableHotPlug -bool YES

After a reboot the ptpcamera doesn't start up AT FIRST.

When my phone is disconnected and reconnects, the ptpcamera fires up AGAIN.

Is there a way to disable this feature permanently? I've already tried by selecting 'no application' in the Image capture program, that doesn't stop the PTPcamera process from firing up and connecting (and preventing other software to connect to the phone).

Any help would be appreciated because this is very frustrating OS behaviour.

Thanks in advance!
