I'm using High Sierra and iOS 12. On my mac in books all covers are showing correct.
But on my iOS devices there is only the "placeholder" cover - not the cover art.
When open a book on iOS the first page shows the image. But not in the gallery.
I'm syncing via iCloud.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
The books are from elsewhere - just some epub files.
I also tried to replace the cover art (just drag and drop on mac in iBooks)
They are still missing on iOS... on macOS it is fine.. very strange.
Tried to diable / enable iCloud sync on iOS but still no cover art..
I have just found this in the board:
„Self reply. Just contacted with Apple Support and they told me that it's done on purpose, since one of the latests update covers of books downloaded from the internet are not synced anymore. Seems like it's time to move to Kindle or any other third-party app until they enable it again.“
Maybe this is true and i cloud does not any cover from ebooks that are not from the ebook store anymore?! Maybe to get people to buy from apple?

Drag the book onto your desktop. In Books delete the book everywhere. Drag the book from desktop to iBooks.
It happens also to new books... just added a few books that were not in iBooks before and it is the same.... cover in iBooks on Mac is fine but on iOS it’s not showing up..
Are these books from the iBookstore or elsewhere? Are you replacing the covers with other cover art?
What about downloading the books directly into Books on your iOS devices?
iCloud does not sync cover art
