apple store sells refurbished machine ?
I purchase two iphone 8 plus from an apple store and brought them back to China. It turned out that both phones were activation locked when i turned on them. Tried every methods the tech support told, and still failed to activate both phones. The local apple store tested two phones, the findings were: both phones have hardware issue (home button and light sensor malfunction etc.); one of them were locked by an unknown apple ID and triggered "find my iphone" function before i turned on the phone. The purchase date shown are not consistent with my real purchase date. There are also other features on the phone, such as gap between screen and frame, sim card slot font problem, all indicate that they might be refurbished phones. Now both phone were returned to local factory for further test or repair.
Called US apple support, they managed to unlock the one locked by an strange apple ID, but that all they offered. They denied that the apple store will sell refurbished phone, and no explanation on how comes an apple ID can exist in a brand new phone. And they refused to provide a return (I submitted the case before the return date) or refund.
This is the most terrible experience I had with a product. Any channel to send a complaint to get this issue solved?
