iTunes stopped playing music from CDs

My OS is High Sierra. I am using iTunes 12.8 on a MacBook Pro from circa mid-2015, it is my work computer. I have never had problems playing my music on this computer. Suddenly, I can access only the music I purchased through iTunes. Music I transferred from CDs to my home iMac will not play. Fortunately I have everything backed up but it is an extensive library. When I try to play this music, I go to the album on my MacBook and it shows the symbol for downloading from the cloud but the icon is screened back and unresponsive so I can neither stream nor download the music in question. How can I fix this? If it is any help, I just had to restore my iPhone and change passwords for both iCloud and iTunes Store after the latest update.

MacBook Pro, macOS High Sierra (10.13.6)

Solved. I had to re-authorize the computer. I don't know why but there it is. If you have a similar problem, try that.
