Hello sunaina85,

Thanks for asking the Apple Support Communities for help with Touch ID and your Home button. Here are a couple articles to help with your issues.

First, check this article for the Touch ID: If Touch ID isn't working on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

If you still have trouble after going through the entire article the next steps are:

Still not working?

If the previous steps didn't help, you see "Failed—unable to complete Touch ID setup", or either of the following happen when you go to Settings > Touch ID & Passcode, take your device to an Apple Retail Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider, or contact Apple Support:

  • You can't turn on Touch ID
  • Touch ID is dimmed or grayed out

If you resolved the Touch ID issue but still have issues with the home button, please check this article: About the buttons and switches on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

What to do if a button or switch isn't working

  1. Restart your device. If you can't restart your device, try to force restart it.
  2. Remove any protective films and cases that might block the button or switch.
  3. Check for debris or dirt around the button or switch, and clean with a soft cloth.

If you need help with Touch ID, learn what to do.

If the button or switch still isn't working, is damaged, or works intermittently, you might need to set up service for your device. Contact Apple Support, then follow the steps to complete your service request.

Thanks and have a wonderful day.
