Mac Pro Hard Drive Sled Spare

Just wondering if anyone knows of a 3rd party company that makes spare drive sleds for the Mac Pro? Or know of a link on the Apple site that sells it? I can't find it, even in the parts section. Would like to have sleds already connected to my other SATA drives for easy in and out.

macbook 2ghz core duo / mac pro 2.66ghz, Mac OS X (10.4.8)

You would likely have to order them through Apple assuming they will sell them to you. Contact AppleCare or your local Apple store's service center.

There was an early thread and someone looked up the part number for those sleds, so you might want to search.

As hatter notes there was a previous thread regarding this althugh I beleive the resolution was the part being ordered through Apple Service Parts system from an Apple Store/reseller.

The last time I checked the Apple Mac Pro sleds were $49 each through Apple service. If that was a set of 4, I would jump on it. But that was for a single sled. Ouch 😉

Most of the trays and drive sleds I know of (FirmTek etc) are more like $25 and I thought someone quoted a $32 price last fall... but $49 + tax/sh is getting too steep!
