ipod not recognized. diagnosis showed ipod support service is not installed. Have uninstalled--reinstalled--shut down and done all recommended fixes. Nothing works. downloaded latest itunes today==have older ipod shuffle==itunes worked before this download==should I download older itunes?

If you've tried the Microsoft Store version without any luck tear it out and download using the direct links in the iTunes installers section of my user tip. Run the installer as the administrator. If this build still won't work for you try going back to the last one that did.

no Apple Mobile Device USB Driver shows up here. It does under portable devices but it says I have the latest driver is already installed. Everything worked fine until yesterday when I uninstalled and reinstalled itunes. I had removed the old software but at the very end of having the new installed it asked if I wanted the old removed. How can I get a clear reinstall with old software removed?

Tried all you recommended. Under services.msn--no apple mobile device and under universal serial bus controllers--no apple there. Downloaded 3 different times from Windows store. Uninstalled--reinstalled--shut down--reinstalled. Why is this COBRA thing on there? I have Ipod that has worked perfectly for years. Now, in one day, nothing. The only place I see it is under portable devices and it has the latest driver already installed.

Thank you so much. Friday is my 78th birthday and I live alone on SS. My IPod and podcasts connect me to so much. People who care about helping others as you do are the true foundation for this wonderful world. The Microsoft download got hung up around 380 every time so I bet that is where the clinch is. I will think of you while I am enjoying getting back to Heavyweight--a podcast about helping people to go back and fix a wrong in their life. Kathy Berman
