Workouts keep pausing

Hi, when I am walking and using the activity app on my watch OS12, if I stop for a few minutes the workout pauses but does not automatically restart when I start walking again. This is new behaviour for watch OS4 and I wanted to know if there is any way to disable this feature? Many times I am talking with a friend and forget to dismiss the dialog saying the workout is paused, so I miss the rest of my walk.
