Cable for connecting MacBook Air to TV.

What cable do I need to connect my mac to my television. My MacBook air has a date on it of mid 2012. I have photos that I would like to display on my TV.

MacBook Air, macOS High Sierra (10.13.6), Mid 2012

You need a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter or cable. The Mini DisplayPort end plugs into the computer's Thunderbolt port.

Your model has a Thunderbolt digital video output port. I don't know if it is the same as the Thunderbolt port or if you have two ports. So to answer your question, "Yes."

An HDMI cable. If your computer does not have an HDMI port then you will need an adapter for the video-out port on the computer.
