Why is this happening?

My icloud keeps saying that it has never been backed up, but when I look at my settings under my phone it says it was backed up on iCloud the day before.

OK, so I woldn't worry about it. You can reset your device to see if that helps:

  • On an iPhone 8 or later: Press and quickly release the Volume Up button. Press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Then, press and hold the Side button until you see the Apple logo.
  • On an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus: Press and hold both the Side and Volume Down buttons for up to 30 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
  • On an iPhone 6s and earlier, iPad, or iPod touch: Press and hold both the Home and the Top (or Side) buttons for up to 30 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

If that doesn't help, toggle off Settings>your name>your device>iCloud backup and toggle it off then back on.

If that doesn't help, toggle off Settings>Cloud>iCloud Backup - toggle it off there (this is the same setting as above, but even though they are the same, the screen below them is showing different values.

Best,

The first part with backed up never comes from iTunes on my computer for backups, and as well under my iCloud section in settings under the back ups section.

The message for being backed up yesterday comes from under the devices in my account section in settings. When I select my iPhone from the device list, right under the iCloud storage part says the last iCloud back up was yesterday at 2:43 a.m.

So, we need to establish how you are making backups?

- Do you back up to iTunes on your computer using a USB cable?

- Or do you manually back up to iCloud or have Automatic Backups turned on for iCloud under Settings>your name>iCloud>iCloud Backup>iCloud Backup = ON?

If you are only backing up to iCloud from your iOS device either manually or automatically, then if you are looking under iTunes>Preferences>Devices>Backups, you won't see a backup there. That is the list of backups you have made to iTunes directly by connecting your device to your computer via a USB cable, and then opening iTunes and backing up there.

When you indicate that you are looking at the last backup info under Settings>your name>iCloud>iCloud Backups, is the device you are looking at that information on, the same one that you are selecting from the device list to see when it was last backed up?
