Why I Can't add songs to Itunes after upgrading to Mojave?

Since upgrading to Mojave I can't import songs into iTunes like I used to. I tried drag and drop and I also tried from the menu via FILE>ADD TO LIBRARY. Nothing works. Can anyone help? Thanks!!

MacBook Air, iOS 12.0.1

Alan,

Drag the audio files into the Automatically Add to iTunes folder (found inside your iTunes Media folder). Do this while iTunes is running.

  • If the files are compatible they will be added to your iTunes library.
  • If they are not compatible, they will be placed in a Not Added folder.
