Right airpod dying quickly

I've had my right airpod die without the low battery sound twice this week. I wasn't using it to talk on the phone much or at all when this happened. I also checked the settings and I have the mic set to automatic. When the right one dies, the left one still has 70% or more battery left. Any ideas on how to fix this issue or should I just take them to the apple store?

Hello bsouth23,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you’re having trouble with one of your AirPods. I’m happy to provide some steps that might help. To start, I suggest reviewing this article:

Charge your AirPods with charging case and learn about battery life - Apple Support

If you’ve already tried those steps, you might want to unpair your AirPods and set them up again to see if that helps. You can unpair then by tapping Settings > Bluetooth > [AirPods] > Forget This Device. Instructions for setting them up again are below:

Connect and use your AirPods - Apple Support

Should the above not remedy your issue you’ll want to contact Apple Support or take them into your nearest Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider for further diagnostic or service.

Take care.
