Have pending purchases and cant update any apps

Hey apple community quick question!


I tried to purchase some gems on clash of clans and i did not revieve them. But, apple still took my money and it Is on pending and i cannot update any of my apps. Why would it charge me if i didnt even et my items i paid for ingame?

What do you mean "it Is on pending"? Do you mean the app is listed in App Store > Updates and is stuck in a Pending state, not allowing you to update it? I don't understand why an In App Purchase of Gems from Clash of Clans would have anything to do with updating your app. IAP's do not involve the app update process.


The best advice I can say is try rebooting your device. Hold down the Sleep/Wake switch for 5 seconds until "Slide to Power Off" appears. Allow it to power off 30-60 seconds. After you've waited enough, you'll be able to hold down the Sleep/Wake switch for 5 seconds (or plug it into a charger) and the device should boot up with the white Apple logo on a black screen and load your normal home screen. This always resolves my stuck app updates.

Oh trust me I know plenty about how iOS works. I regularly use developer tools to monitor the system console error log, have worked for successful iOS App developers, and solved problems/bugs that even the best technicians couldn't solve.


Regardless, I've never seen/experienced this "Pending purchase" scenario you describe. Either the purchase succeeds, or fails, any time I've ever made a purchase. If there's any issue with the payment or if I click Cancel, the purchase cancels. It only succeeds if I approve and my payment processes.


Under what circumstances does it result in this pending state, and can you please elaborate on it more precisely? I asked you to reboot and you didn't even acknowledge that suggestion, much less try it.


Finally, even though you're being insulting and ungrateful, I'll show mercy and advise you that you can always use Report a Problem to request a Refund for any purchase you didn't receive. I didn't see anyone else offering substantial help to you. Next time don't kick a gift horse in the mouth if you want people to *volunteer* to help you in their free time...
