how do i change my ipod nano to manual update(new nano)

Plug your iPod in, when the summary comes up, uncheck the box that says "open iTunes automatically when connected" then check the box that talks about manually addings songs or manually updating the iPod (my iPod got stolen or I'd plug my iPod in and tell you the correct name of the option) and that should work.

Why do you want to uncheck the box that automatically opens iTunes? You can have the iPod in Manual Update mode when iTunes automatically opens.

Oh sorry I thought when that box was checked it automatically updated the iPod. I would have double checked my answer but since I don't currently own an iPod till my new iPod comes in the mail I wasn't able to double check so I based my answer on memory.
