App Store: Recently applied updates show up inconsistently

Since updating to Mojave, the "Updates" is showing applied updates inconsistently. Sometimes it shows apps, that were updated a couple of days ago (e.g. iA Writer showed up there the last two weeks) and other times updates just vanish after they are applied, making me unable to see which apps were updated and what the version notes are (e.g. Bear was updated this morning, but I only found out by accident). Especially with automatic updates it is a pain, not to see all past updates.

How can this be fixed?

(I assume it is a bug and Apple has to fix it, but I am grateful for any low effort, intermediate ideas how to lessen the problem).

If you want to see what updates have been installed on your Mac, click on the Apple top left of your screen. Click on About This Mac, click System Report, scroll down to software click on Installations, then click on Install Date twice, the list will now be displayed with the most recent installs first.

With “rough” I meant three things: For me, it is a lot harder to initially find it there. And it is more clicking and scrolling around until I get there. And there I only see which updates happened, I do not see the release notes. For the latter, I have to go back to the App Store and search manually for the App.

Because of all of this, I think it would be really good if Apple would make the updates pane in the App store more reliable again.

(I also thought about turning off Auto update, but having my Apps up to date is more important to me than being able to see which updates happened and what they introduced. So I decided to keep it activated on all my devices.)
