iphone 6s notes

I recently lost a note from the notes app and do not know how it was either deleted or lost. This is a note that I have been using everyday and now its gone. From the home screen I search a word that is in the note and it pops up to click on the note but when I do it simply goes to the notes app and does nothing. The phone was recently updated to iOS 12.0.1. Please help I really need the information on that note.

Hello ronniecommerce,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities! I understand that a note disappeared unexpectedly in the Notes app on your iPhone 6s. You've come to the right place for a resolution.

If you sync your notes to iCloud, you may be able to recover the deleted note from your Recently Deleted folder:

iCloud: Delete a note on iCloud.com

Specifically, follow the steps in this section:

Recover recently deleted notes

If you’re using upgraded notes, you can recover and edit iCloud notes you deleted in the last 30 days on iCloud.com or your devices where you’re signed in with the same Apple ID. However, you can’t recover notes you permanently removed (as described in Permanently remove recently deleted notes).

  1. Select Recently Deleted on the left.

If you don’t see Recently Deleted in the folder list on the left, you don’t have any recoverable notes.

If you don’t see a folder list to the left of the notes list, you’re not using upgraded notes and can’t recover deleted notes.

  2. Select a note on the left, then click Recover in the toolbar. The note moves to the Notes folder.

To recover directly to a folder other than Notes, drag a note from the Recently Deleted folder to another folder.

Note: If you delete a shared note that you do not own, the note does not move to your Recently Deleted folder. For more information, see Delete shared notes.

If the note was synced to a third-party email account, you may need to contact the email provider to explore possible recovery options for the missing note.

Take care!
