How do I open my MacBook?

Yesterday I bought my MacBook Air and I was looking at the settings and I may have accidentally changed something in the mousepad settings. So I wasn’t able to move the cursor around and do nothing on the laptop. So I tried to turn it off. Now when I have been trying to turn it on. I am not able to.

Even though I’m typing the right password. And I am unable to move the cursor.
