File Vault on external drive (MAC OS Mojave)

I am searching how to get my external drive encrypted (like my main drive in MAC PRO). It seems that something is different since???? I can't get the option encrypt drive when doing a right or left or what ever click on the drive name....

Mac Pro, macOS Mojave (10.14), + Parallels Desktop 12.0.2

Hello ekmi_1954,

Thanks for asking the Apple Support Communities for help with encrypting your external drive. I am happy to offer an article to help you do this.

This article has info, and a couple of options to do this. If you choose the option to format the drive and enable the encryption, move the files to your computer or another drive, then format and encrypt it, then move the files back, as formatting a drive erases everything on that drive. There are other options listed there that may be available as well: Encrypt and protect a disk with a password using Disk Utility on Mac - Apple Support

Thanks and have a wonderful day.
