iOS 12 iPhone 6s battery drain

Since updating to 12 and 12.01 the battery on my 6s has been draining rapidly. It was a new battery installed last winter during the recall/replacement

Here is update from my side.

In Croatia there is still active promotion for battery change.

Since I bought XR and planed to pass on 6S+, I decided to use the promotion and I had battery changed.

With new battery drain issue is gone.

It is possible that 12.0.1 added some additional strain to which older batteries responded poorly.

Check you local Apple supplier if there is active promotion, it is 40$ here which looked like a good deal to give 6S+ few more years of life.

Hi RevDeb

I had my battery replaced last year and it now has 91% max capacity remaining. When I went to the Genius Bar they said that replacing the battery would have no real effect and that I must restore the iPhone to factory settings with iOS 12.1. I did this and so far, no change! So frustrated with Apple. Hope you get a solution.

Did anyone here ever have your screen replaced?

Just stabbing in the dark here . . . .I broke mine last summer and as the 6s was out of warranty, took it to someplace not Apple figuring I'd be replacing the phone after the new ones came out. I'm now wondering if maybe Apple put something in 12 to jinx non-Apple replacement screens which is what I think may be insanely drawing the power.

The battery health function really is useless.

I had a rapidly draining battery problem on my 6s. Took it to the Genius Bar twice. Twice they used their sophisticated testing thing-y to tell me there was nothing wrong with my battery, just to restore or install newer iOS. Did both. Battery drained even faster. Went back and requested (no, demanded) to replace the battery (both time the Genius guy said i was wasting my money). That completely solved the problem.

DO NOT UPGRADE YOUR OS UNTIL A FUTURE VERSION SPECIFICALLY SAYS IT ADDRESSES THE DRAINING BATTERY PROBLEM ON THE 6s.

Apple couldn't care less if they break your older phone with an OS upgrade. They are on;y fixated on getting you to buy a new, expensive one.
