Apple Devices Show as Offline in Classroom

We are 1:1 iPads with all devices managed by our MDM. We are syncing from our SIS to Apple School Manager and then into our MDM to populate Apple Classroom. Some students show as Offline and will not connect. The Classroom icon does not appear in their Settings.

We have tried hard reset, checked Bluetooth, wifi, Airplane Mode is off. The teacher and student devices are next to each other and other devices show as Online in Classroom.

This is very frustrating as there seems to be no consistency between the devices that do not connect. It happens for different devices in different classrooms with different iOS versions ranging from 11.4 to 12.1

Thank you for the suggestions. I have noticed that in our MDM as well, it creates multiple instances of a user and assigns the device to the incorrect copy. In the instance I am looking at currently, the student is only listed once in ASM as well as our MDM (ZuluDesk), and her Managed Apple ID matches correctly and has the correct classes listed.

I checked with the teacher after a few days and the student still shows as offline
