Possible to restore calendar from backup

Deleted a calendar on my MacBook -Sierra OS - and need to get it back. I tried the Restore on Icloud, and it replaced all of my calendars that I had not deleted, but did not find the missing culprit. I can't get to it from my iPhone X either.

I back up my mac regularly using Time Machine to an external drive. Is there a way to find a calendar portion of the backup and use Time Machine to restore it?

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013), macOS Sierra (10.12.6)

I did a similar thing in High Sierra and fixed it. I thought I'd lost all my Calendar events and reminders.

Hopefully this will work the same in El Capitan.

Open your calendar so you can see it and put it to the side (but in view)

Then,open System Preferences>iCloud>

you'll see the window below. If Calendar is NOT checked in the list, you will need to check it and look at your calendar.

You should see everything slowly reappear.

If you uncheck it again, the events, etc will disappear again. Checking the box next to Calendarsshould solve the issue.
