High Sierra and "Hey Siri"

Evening,

I've recently upgraded from El Capitan to High Sierra (never have the latest ... Mojo or whatever it is called)

But I felt high Sierra would handy with Siri.

The symbol is there top right and in the Dock, and clicking it, it will listen and respond to commands, but I if I just say "Hey Siri" when screen is on, it does not start up (like it does on my iphone)

I checked the Sys Pref "Siri" and it is all enabled plus no parental controls.

Am I missing something ?

iMac, macOS High Sierra (10.13.6), +Ipad Air; ITouch; Classic; Iph6

The "Hey Siri" functionality on Macs is only on devices with the T2 chip built-in. Here's a link that talks about what the T2 chip does and which devices have it. Siri will work normally, you just can't activate it with your voice.
