I am use this one Belkin USB-A to USB-C Cable (USB 3.1) - Apple for late 2013 iMac to iPad Pro 2018.
Can't see how that will work, that adaptor has a usb-c plug.
what's needed is USB plug for iMac with female adaptor to connect usb-c to usb-c on iPad.
or am I missing something?
The item i recommended is a cable. You plug the USB-C end into the iPad, and the USB end into the Mac.
I have Apple USB-C to USB for my 2013 iMac 27". Purchased a male to male USB to connect Apple USB-C to iMac. When opening iTunes does not recognize iPad Pro 11?
The item you recommend is literally the wrong one. How are you level 10 with this kind of answers? How will he plug the female port from the adaptor you link, into the other female port from his Mac?

Then used USB-C to USB-C that came with iPad Pro 11. iPad shows in iTunes. Solved.
