Setting up 4K Apple TV

I have this same problem, new Apple TV 4K, says it can't connect to the internet.

It acquires IP address, it shows up in the settings, and I can ping the Apple TV from my laptop.

The router is connected to the internet. I've rebooted the router, and upgraded the firmware, still no luck.

What should I try next?

I plugged the unit into a wired network, it worked.

I went through the setup process, got an app working.

Then unplugged the cable, and it all reconnected after 10 seconds or so, new content appeared from over the wifi network.

I did not change anything about the network, and wifi worked, so no need for help here.

I wonder if there is a reason that on initial setup wifi works sometimes, and other times does not.

Dosent matter what one you buy, but buy one long enough.

You need to be able to connect to the Internet.

Try ethernet cable.

Any good Cat5 will do.
