2015 MacBook Air Won't Find Software Updates

My 2015 MacBook Air 11.6 says it has the latest update, but is only on macOS Sierra 10.12.6. Due to this, there are many apps that won't update, however the appstore shows my system up to date, and does not give any option to update.

Oddly enough, my 2011 MacBook Air 13 has updated just fine... Is this a 11.6 issue?

Thank you,

Heather

If you want to upgrade to Mojave, go to the App Store Featured tab and download it there. For the High Sierra upgrade, try the link below. It will take you to the App Store.

What do mean by 11.6? What macOS version are actually using?

10.12.6 is the latest and last update for macOS Sierra. Perhaps you're confusing the Update process with Upgrades.

Upgrades are downloadable from the App Store app, not via Software Update.

I mean I have the smaller MacBook Air (11 vs 13), from 2015 that says it is running Sierra 10.12.6, but my older, larger MacBook Air from 2011 is running High Sierra 10.13.6.

Several apps on the MacBook Air 11 won’t update themselves until I can get the iOS up to 10.13 or higher, but I don’t know how to do that since there is no software update in the AppStore.

iOS is for iPhones and iPads. You want to upgrade your macOS. You do that by downloading the Upgrade from the App Store App, not by using Software Update.

Installing a new macOS version is an Upgrade. An Update is going from say, 10.13.5 to 10.13.6.
