i have 10.4 quicktime but can't watch powerpoint video

I have 10.4 quicktime, but I am unable to watch a powerpoint presentation. It says codec unavailable. Do I have to update Powerpoint from windows for my macbook pro? Is there something else I can do ? Thank you

Powerpoint files will never open in QuickTime Player. They were never supported.
