Payment information could not be updated?
I try to update my payment information in the appleid site get this message:
Payment information could not be updated.
For assistance, contact iTunes Support at www.apple.com/support/itunes/ww/.

That's not in any way helpful. Where on the linked page does it explain what that cryptic error message means? It directs users to this site, where you direct them back to the page that caused the error.
Why can payment information not be updated? What field is incorrect? Is it a bank issue? Is it a bug on the server side?
Sometimes its just the entry of the CVV code on the back that is missing. You have to meticulously go through that page block by block to make sure each block is filled out correctly. I would delete your browser history and cache before trying again too.
Had the same problem. I was trying to change payment information on my computer and it was referring me to Apple Support. Then I changed the payment information on my phone, which it accepted. After that I was able to change the info. on my Mac. Don't get the reasoning but it worked.
