I was editing a 40+ minute video and the app crashed. Every time I try to reopen it, it keeps crashing and will not open. How can I fix this without deleting all of my progress on that and other videos? (I tried restarting, resetting, and updating my phone)
How much memory do you have on your phone?

Not sure if this works, because my footage is on iCloud. But when ever I get this kind of crash and I can’t open I app.
Sometimes turning OFF WiFi and open APP with Cellular will fix this issue, OR visversa of turning ON WiFi. I can’t recall the order.
Or a combination of “Low Power Mode” and battery level is in yellow color.
Just make sure the “Low Battery Mode” yellow battery is OFF and the battery is green.
I tried a bunch of combinations of WiFi and data and charging and do not disturb and things like that, but it didn’t work. I will try the low power mode next time, and I will make sure to have it backed up to iCloud. Thanks for the help!

Im curious. Are your video footages backed-up to your Photos iClouds?

Try saving a backup to your Mac via Airdrop or iCloud.
Check your battery level. Photos or footages don't copy to your iMovie if your Battery Settings is in "Low Power Mode" or yellow color battery icon. Make sure battery is at 50% and green, not yellow color. Ive noticed my large iMovie project get into a bad state if footage is on iCloud and Low Power Mode ON.
My battery level was fine, I tried multiple times over the course of a week but finally I was forced to delete the app and restart my projects. I decided to split the video in two, saving frequently, and it happened again. I think it may just be the app overloading from too many long/heavily edited videos. Can’t really say though
