Receiving a strange notification pop up Macbook Pro Mojave 10.14

So I keep receiving strange pop ups coming from the notifications panel on my Mac saying make sure your make book is upto day with the latest security software but when you click on it it takes you to some dodgy site that just doesnt look legit anyone got any ideas what this is.

I feel like its some sort of malware or something.

Malware Pop-Up I am receiving a pop-up stating "Mac is full of Virus, click to remove virus" also "Mac camera is controlled?" or hacked and this is not only on websites. It is on startup as well. I had downloaded Malwarebytes and it could not find any malware on the device. Yet, the popups still exist beyond just browsing the web. Any other pointers as to how to fix this? It's been persistent for the past month since mid-Janurary when I got my laptop back from a friend. This is a frequent occurance every 2-5 minutes it pops up.

McAfee pop-ups I keep getting pop-ups from McAfee saying: "Security alert. You've visited illegal infected website. Your MAC is at risk of being infected by viruses. To continue browsing safely - perform an antivirus scan" How do I get rid of this annoying pop-up?

Is it really a notification or does this message appear in your browser?

You probably have some adware installed.

Please download and run the diagnostic tool Etrecheck, and post its report here.
