Devolo Microlink dLAN; networking over household mains power

I'm having trouble connecting to my wireless router one floor down from where my Mac is now based. I was looking around to get a more powerful router/antennae booster, but stumbled on Devolo's Microlink dLAN which uses the household mains power as the LAN infrastructure. They have very recently written OS X drivers for it - which is probably why I can't find much about how well it works with OS X.

See http://www.devolo.com/co_EN/produkte/dlan/mldlanhsstarterkit-dn.html for details

Does anyone have any experience with this (or similar) products?
