I'm running a trial version of Final Cut Pro and the thumbnail previews of the effects and transitions have disappeared, all I have is black boxes, the only way I can reveal them is by running the cursor over them. I've tried re-installing the programme but still no joy. Please help.

It’s a fault in the trial version. It can’t be fixed. The problem is not in the release version.
Sounds like you are running the trial version of FCP X?
The paid version does not exhibit this.

Thanks Tom, I plan on buying the full version at the end of the trial but was worried that the same thing will happen. If it's a known fault in the trial version then that's ok. I was desperately trying to find a way of restoring them thumbnails it's really annoying.
Hi Al, yes I'm running the trial version currently, although when I first had the trial it worked fine then just stopped and now I have black squares on all titles and transitions (until I run the mouse over them to reveal what they are).
If the Timeline plays OK I would not be concerned as the paid version is fine.
That being said, corruption can occur due to failed power or cables being pulled while data is being read/written.
