Best way to connect new Mac Mini (2018) to Dell p2415q monitor?

According to Dell, the monitor has either a DisplayPort, Mini DisplayPort or HDMI (MHL) socket. The Mac Mini (2018) has 4 Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) sockets, and an HDMI 2.0 socket. all 3 sockets on the monitor support 4k. (HDMI requires a High Speed HDMI cable) .you'd need a thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to DisplayPort/MiniDisplayPort cable or a Thunderbolt 3 to Displayport/MiniDisplayport adapter . You can get ones with 2 displayport /maybe minidisplayport ? outputs, but those tend to be pricey, and you just need the one output.

I have the same problem. I purchased a Plugable brand USB-C to DisplayPort Adapter and the monitor shows no signal.

Any suggestions on brands or other solutions that work for the 2018 mac mini and Dell p2715Q monitor?

I am waiting for a response from Plugable regarding their adapter cable and why they didn't work.

I just ordered a second adapter cable (Cable Matters USB-C to DisplayPort Cable [USB-C to DisplayPort Cable/USB C to DP Cable] Supporting 4K 60Hz Black 6 Feet - Thunderbolt 3 Port Compatible) from Amazon and will post how it goes.

Well. User error. The Dell p2415q has both input and output DP ports. I was plugging into the wrong port!

Plugable support helped to figure this out.

I am up and running with two monitors.
