Connecting 2 hearing devices at the same time.

I have a cochlear implant in one ear and a hearing aid in the other ear. Both have apps to control them. However, I cannot seem to get both to pair to Bluetooth at the same time. I have to forget one to pair the other. Is this not possible To pair both at the same time so I can easily control both?
