Apple ID sign in problems
i signed out of my Apple ID on my phone and am attempting to sign back in. However, in order to do anything, it is requesting that I sign in with an old Apple ID and isnt letting me change it.

By 'old Apple ID that I changed' do you mean that you've changed the account's primary email address : What to do after you change your Apple ID or password - Apple Support ?

What exactly are you seeing and where on the phone ? You are sure that you logged out, if you go to Settings > iTunes & App Store you are only seeing a 'sign in' button, it's not showing an id due to still being logged in ?
Is it asking you to verify the old ID? If you are using IOS 12, I read a post a couple of days ago where someone posted they had talked to Apple Support about this and were told it is a known bug that Apple is trying to correct. If you click Cancel, does the window go away?
I am signed in. It is trying to get me to update the Apple ID. I’m not sure why it is asking for the password to an old Apple ID that I changed.
I fixed it. I just signed out and signed back in. It was much simpler than I expected.
Good.
